WHAT IS OSCILLOT®

Oscillot® was invented by South Australian by filmmaker, Paul Bok, in 2006. Paul noticed an obvious lack of options for cat owners to keep their beloved feline friends safe at home. The only cat proofing options on the market at the time appeared to be either cages or netting... And let's face it, who wants to turn their yard into a prison! After extensive research and development, Oscillot® was born in Australia!

Oscillot® is the best cat-proof fence solution as it has no wires, and no electric current, it is completely safe and will not cause harm to your cat, wildlife, or little curious hands that may reach up and touch the system. Cat proofing your yard is not only the best way to keep your cat safe, but it also protects native wildlife living in neighboring parks and reserves.

Oscillot® comprises of two main components, the Paddle and the Dual Knuckle Post Kit. The Paddle, made from high quality aluminium, is professionally powder-coated to ensure strength and durability. The Dual Knuckle Post Kit is made from acetal, a very durable plastic that is able to withstand weather extremes. A third component, the Bracket, is an optional extra which may make installing to timber paling fences easier.

Unlike the home made rollers, all components that make up Oscillot® are made in Australia from high quality Australian materials. The Animal Welfare League of Australia, Nature Canada and the Animal Welfare League of Queensland have endorsed Oscillot® as a safe and responsible method of containing pet cats to their own property.

    HOW IT WORKS...

Oscillot® consists of a series of four-bladed aluminium paddles, which are mounted along fence lines between end posts containing bearings. When a cat tries to jump and scale the fence, they place a paw on the paddle, which then spins; the cat cannot get traction and falls safely back to the ground.

Oscillot® is fast-becoming the first choice for cat owners across the world, because there are no wires, no cages and no netting, it is cat friendly, unobtrusive and can cat proof most fences easily while ensuring reliability for years to come.

    SUITABLE FENCE TYPES...

Oscillot® is very well suited to metal fences. Oscillot® can also be installed onto other types of fence including:

    • Post and rail
    • Steel/ aluminium
    • Chain-link
    • Timber/ wooden
    • Masonry
    • Vinyl

For Oscillot® to be effective, we strongly recommend that it is only installed to fences with a minimum height of 6 feet. This recommendation is made because this is the height at which the system has been tested and proven to be effective.

For fence heights lower than 6 feet, the concern is that a cat could scale up the fence whilst still maintaining enough composure and accuracy to place a paw under or over the Paddles and get enough of a grip on the fence top to scurry over.

    INSTALLATION

Oscillot® was designed for simple, 'Do it Yourself' installation to fences that are at least 6 feet in height. The system allows the maximization of the cat's need to roam by cost effectively and aesthetically maximizing its territorial space to include the whole yard, whether it be front or rear.

Oscillot® is conveniently available in easy cat-proof fence kits. The kits consist of all of the components necessary for a typical installation for the relevant footage of the Kit. The system comes in standard 4 feet Paddle lengths which can be cut down to size as required to fit as the last Paddle in the fence run, smaller sections of fence and gates etc. The installation process only requires the use of a few tools and some time!
